Sensodyne partners with Indian Dental Association to honour dentists for their contribution to healthcare !
The IDA conference aims to shine light on the efforts of the top dentists in the city by recognizing their contributions to the advancement of oral health.
23rd October 2023, Chennai: Sensodyne, a leading oral care brand from the house of Haleon (erstwhile GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare) has partnered with Indian Dental Association (IDA) to host a series of conclaves recognizing and celebrating the role of dentists in ensuring good oral health of their patients. To honour the role of these Oral Health experts in the dentist community, Sensodyne and IDA have co-created a first-of-its kind platform for dentists to discuss the latest in science of dentistry that would enable them to work towards superior patient outcomes. This platform was also utilized to felicitate the senior dentists for their stellar contributions to dentistry.
As a part of this initiative, multiple conclaves are being hosted across cities. The participants discussed key oral health issues, need for proactive health care and some of the most challenging cases they have handled. This helped in identifying common issues and exploring innovative solutions.
Senior doctor in Chennai, Prof. Dr. V. Rangarajan, Professor & HOD, Prosthodontics, Sri Venkateswara Dental College, Chennai, was honoured at the event for his exceptional contributions to dentistry.
Prof. Dr. V. Rangarajan received the ‘Diplomate in Oral Implantology’ from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), New York, for his work in this field in 2003, and is one of the first dentists from India to achieve this. He also completed the Fellowship & Mastership of 400 hours in TMD, Oro-facial pain & Dental sleep medicine conducted by Smile USA & Roseman University, USA in 2021, and successfully completed Part1, for the Diplomate of American Board of Orofacial Pain in 2022.
Dr. Kishore Kumar, President of Chennai IDA, Dr. A.P Maheshwar, Secretary of Chennai IDA, Dr. S. Bhuminathan, Jt. Secretary of Chennai IDA, Dr. Poornima Karthik, Assistant Secretary of Chennai IDA, Dr. Arun Suraj, CDE Chairman, and Dr. Balakumar V., Treasurer were also present at the event.

The mindset towards Oral Health needs to be moved from curative to preventive. This conclave is a step towards recognizing the efforts of our esteemed dentists for their contributions to the field of oral health. As the leading sensitivity toothpaste brand, Sensodyne also celebrated the importance of dentists on this World Dentist’s Day by launching four short digital films which call them #DoctorsOfJoy. These films were showcased at the conference as well in the honour of the dentists.
